CURRENT ROLE
Responsible for installation, deployment, and patching of client’s
enterprise application performance software (Symantec i3). Deploy and
configure agents to collect performance data for five (5) web-based applications
including the following applications and platforms: Solaris 9, IBM Http
Server v2, WebSphere Application Server v5.1 and v6.0, WebSphere Portal
Server v5.1, Oracle 9i and Oracle 10. Use cross-team coordination skills
to (a) collect requirements, (b) schedule deployments and outages, (c)
train users. Integrate the i3 deployment into the development life cycle,
coordinating deployments to and gathering data from no less than five
environments from development to production. Coordinate daily engagements
with Symantec i3 vendor support to troubleshoot and resolve technical
issues. Perform general Unix system administration tasks from installing
software to diagnosing poor system performance. Entry level IBM IHS and
WebSphere administration. Created scripts to parse WebSphere and IHS logs
for integration with Big Brother. Document environment specific installation,
deployment and troubleshooting procedures for the Symantec i3 product.
Assist in creation of detailed physical architecture diagrams with input
from Systems Engineers, DBAs, and Application Developers. Also was responsible
for maintaining the accuracy of this information.

used for Program Technicians in San Antonio and Austin; development was
